We are a team of 2 that have been charged with the role of raising our college Work Experience from 27% to 100% over a 3 year period whilst delivering on the Industry Placement figures each year.

I had been contacted by another software provider which at first glance appeared to be what I needed. After consulting with both I soon realised that the other systems available that accommodate Industry Placements and Work Experience were not as user friendly as CONNECT. The learner app was a huge selling point as learners are well versed in using apps and often find online browser access for logging placements outdated and onerous.

The software promises to provide support through monitoring, automated contact, requests for documentation, review points and confirmation of attendance. With the benefits promised we can focus on the quality of our placements and evidence building as well as focusing on increasing learner success by identifying trends of attendance in a timely manner or addressing concerns promptly either for the employer or the learner. The software has the potential to impact on over 50% of the day to day needs of quality provision as well as over 50% of the challenges we have identified after our first year in post.

The team have proved to be accommodating and the knowledge they gain from working with so many other colleges makes the service even more invaluable. In interest of sharing good practice CONNECT collaborate witha range of providers from different settings and then create events to bring like-minded professionals together.

This is not a sales team providing a product, it is real people sharing a system that they have developed for their own needs, that system has worked for them and they will support us in the development of a platform that, in turn, will work for us.”
